So this is for Remix War! It's a fusion of arabic music and disco house and is based off Octavia and Vinyl Scratch visiting Saddle Arabia. Just pretend the diva vocals are Octavia. ;)The original was by my friend Mathematicus and I've gotten the pleasure of being able to hang out with him in person and on skype (wooh team Denver) so this was a lot of fun remixing each other's tracks. Freewave + SylverLining - I'll Be Your Friend
I thought it would be cool to do a blues / country song (not too many brony versions of that) and make it about Cranky and Pinkie's meeting up. I know a lot of people give Pinkie crap for her tenacity in that episode and initially upsetting him as much helping him. I think its important to remember just how beaten down his character was when he arrived and how she brought some new found joy back to his life. Anyway i really identify with some of the themes with this one so it was fun writing the lyrics. More importantly doing a duet with Sylverlining was wonderful as she's just so talented and having a youthful and fresh approach to music has made me a little less cranky and withered myself. I hope you enjoy this change of pace. :D

Finally one last note, before anyone says...why would you make such a thing...it's natural for people to make slasher flicks about teenagers meeting horrible ends,in fact that's tradition. This is simply adapting something already out there (that i didn't make) and giving a teaser for it so you can check it out or steer well clear. But i hope you appreciate the effort spent. ;)

Welcome to my music blog!!
Welcome to my music blog which is going to list, link, and be a journal for each bit of mlp music I have made. I appreciate you checking it out. If you're looking for the old Freewave blog it's been moved here.
I'm a brony musician and have been since way back in October 2011. I don't really have an easy to label "style" but it's more a collection of varied MLP focused dance music (and often WITH pmv's). I like genres a LOT and have made a lot of music in different genres and styles to reflect what i like. I mainly am a remixer but i also do some originals, covers, medleys, mashups, and mixtapes too. I run a few Brony Blogs including the Brony Musician Directory (bronymusic.com) which i helped found and continue to run to showcase the many great big and small musicians in the community. I am also a mod on My Little Remix now too. I am an older brony so I do contribute from that perspective and before ponies my past-time has always been MUSIC whether it's been dj'ing it at a few nightclubs, collecting loads of albums and live recordings, going to concerts at Red Rocks, blogging about places to find great music, or investigating the wide history of music and making many lists as TheScientist on RateYourMusic.
I find the brony community to be a great home and something that keeps me actively busy, always inspired, and ultimately a lot more positive about life and my part to play in it as an individual and as a member in this fine community. The big thing to me is that bronies create their own fantastic music, art, stories, and even r34 to make this fanbase as creative and awesome as it is and that's why I'm here and love it so. Anyways, stay positive and flutter on.

Chaos Squared Album release
While my first album collected all the optimistic tracks based on MLP themes this second one is based on the darker side. Each is centered around an MLP villain or a discorded pony and the genres too go a little darker in theme. This isn't a grimdark album but it's not cute and cuddly either. Several tracks have been remixed and remastered from the originals. I hope you check it out.

Freewave - Apples to the Core (Party Across This Land Remix)
So I knew there were soon to be a flood of EDM remixes of AttC coming from the community so I spent a couple of days making a remix with genres from organic elements that most people don't touch; Country Rock (2 Apples sections), Jazz Rap (Granny), and Disco (Pinkie). I hope this music journey is an enjoyable and fun way to remember this episode and song. Hopefully I've answered what's REALLY in that cave :) I really had a blast making this and I hope you like it. Send it into Equestria Daily if you did (pretty please) as I've had a good string of luck there and hopefully this is a nice change of pace from the typical brony remix. Thanks all!!

Beatle Bronies - The Herd (Freewave's Higher Consciousness Remix)
So this is a ponified remix of a cover of the Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows done by the Beatle Bronies (stems from Poni1Kenobi) but done electronic style. I love what the Chemical Brothers did with the influence of original Beatles track so this is my take on combining these 3 bands into a mantra on a higher state of brony consciousness and what being a brony means as a state of mind.
Thanks both to Poni1Kenobi for stems and making this possible and to the Beatles and Chems for their portion too (some stems from the fab 4). They were the great ingredients and i was the blender.. Have a Psychedelic Big Beat smoothie.

Freewave + Friends - Already Gone
Hopefully everyone know about Michael Morones by now. An 11 year old who was bullied because he was a brony and tried to take his own life. He suffered some damage, but thankfully he's still alive and is still recovering. http://mlpforums.com/topic/86321-boy-bullied-for-being-a-brony-attempts-to-take-own-life/ The community is keeping tabs on his recovery and we will continue to lend our support, our good thoughts, and any donations his way. I wanted to write a song on the matter because having something like this even occur really can shake your sense of security. It effects not just one family but the community as a whole really. So i wanted to make a song not just for Michael but also anyone bullied or depressed, because hopefully everyone knows that part of being in a community is that people will always be there when you need help. You just need to reach out to find a safe place.
This was put together pretty quickly to be included on the New Sincerity community album and I received some help with the vocals (midway) from one of the participants Terolie. Thanks to him for pitching in and helping get the track done in such a short time. He did a great job on this and Already Gone. Sorry this came out a few weeks later then i wanted but the album release was delayed a tad and hopefully still relevant.

Freewave & Evdog - The Unicorns of Canterlot
So this is a song about the girls issues with dealing about eltism and snobbery in Canterlot. I'm sure many people have noticed that whether its the mane 6 at the Gala or its Rarity by herself, that there's a lot of unicorns (and other ponies) there that use class and status to feel better then their peers and look down on others. Ponyville is often looked down upon. Ultimately while clearly not everyone is this way over there, there's enough examples, like Jet Set and Upper Crust, to see this as a recurring theme. This song also incidentally also deals with the same problem within the music fandom that i've experienced first hand; at a local bronycon (not you Odyssey, you're a very nice guy and you were sick as hell) and online. Sometimes its best to take all those negative feelings about a mostly positive experience into a song and then move on.

AwkwardMarina + Freewave - Hanging On to a DJ Just Like Me
Now a big thanks to my local friends for making this video possible. Mathematicus for opening up his downtown apartment, letting us shoot it (staying up to 4am), and then helping me go though MANY various WIP's of the video and edits for this final version. That was a ton of work and dedication and I greatly appreciate his friendship and endurance getting this video to completion. Also I need to thank our very own Vinyl Scratch (aka Pyro Temper Tantrum) who we met at Rotlcon (you'll see some photos of her cosplay outfit 1.0 and other dj's at the convention) and helped make that convention a wonderful success.
